Gordon B. Hinckley...touched so many lives

I have such mixed feelings about the passing of President Hinckley. I will miss him terribly but am so comforted by the thought of how joyous his passage through the veil must have been! Just imagine the congregation that must have been waiting for him on the other side! I must admit, I, like so many others, expected him to somehow live forever. I love him for his down-to-earth, everyone-is-important attitude. I love how he brought humor and cheerfulness to any occasion...oh that cane of his :) I love how he comforted after 9/11. I love how excited I got when he was about to speak in conference. I will treasure the opportunities I had to be in his presence on several occasions due to the fortune of being acquainted with the family of his son, Clark Hinckley and his family. My favorite of these was when I was able to attend the mission farewell of his grandaughter Holly and sat right behind Sister Hinckley. After sacrament meeting, he walked down from the stand and took Marjorie lovingly by the hand and led her out of the chapel...it melted my heart. The meeting was very spiritual, especially during the sacrament.

What a legacy he leaves behind...a legacy that will live through the eternities. The surge of temple construction, the relationships he made worldwide. The excellent work he did in the media helping to stamp out the negative Mormon stereotypes. The relationships he helped heal between faiths......I'll just miss him. Farewell to a marvelous prophet of God.

Hi, Heather - it's me Kim! Thanks for inviting me to view your blog! I sure have enjoyed my blog. Thanks for your uplifting post about Pres. Hinckley. Yes, he will be missed, but you're right, we can't be too sad because we know how happy he is now. He certainly passed his earth life test. I look forward to more insights from Heather to come!

I have seen about 10 of my friends/families blogs with President Hinckley. I hope the world will get to see the posts and know how much he is missed. Yes, him and that cane! He carried it everywhere with him, but NEVER actually used it! (Except as a sword :) I love your blog! Next time I see you I will help you spice it up with some cute digital scrapbook paper.
